Hospitality is a service industry that includes lodging, food, travel and tourism, event planning, guest relations, and theme parks in a nutshell. It is a pivotal economic activity and also one of the places where guests from all over the country bring foreign currency and it has a significant contribution to the economic growth of a nation. This field is popular worldwide in Asia, Europe, America, Australia, and African nations where there is hospitality for incoming guests to have a pleasant outcome in their countries. Since then academic programs and training have been designed to provide knowledge and skills for handling the hospitality industries with programs like Bachelor of Hospitality Management in mainstream study programs for undergraduate students in Nepal.
Hospitality Management studies of three to four years are launched in Nepal by national Universities some of which are foreign affiliated programs to equip knowledge and skills to our students in hospitality and tourism industries like hotels, resorts, casinos, restaurants, events and banquets, and travel areas. Students focus their learning and skills in areas of hospitality sector operations and brush their personal and professional skills to handle guests and arrange better services and healthy relations to survive and prosper. It is an open gateway for many interested students into the growing hospitality industry.
This challenging course addresses the daily operational issues present in all hospitality venues while also focusing on other aspects of hospitality management, such as human resources, marketing, sales, and finance. The BHM course provides a great opportunity to support career growth through theoretical and practical skills.
Hospitality, in the context of Nepal, is closely associated with tourism in Nepal. Nepal is a famous holiday destination for tourists and hospitality industries that cater to accommodations and facilities for tourists to have pleasant stays and travel in popular destinations in Nepal.
The Bachelor of Hospitality Management program was launched to provide the knowledge, and skills of various functions for the operations of hospitality industries. It is a service as well as the business sector of Nepal. Students of BHM go through four years of intensive study, and six months of internship period in a standard hotel where they have to work with real staff and put use of their learned skills and knowledge to become graduates in this field.
BHM is a semester-wise study system that covers education and training in all key aspects of the hospitality industry in Nepal. It combines Management, Mathematical, and Science skills which are essential for hotel operations. So, we can claim that the education of a Bachelor of Hospitality Management is directly related to this industry, in this case, it is absolutely advantageous to earn a degree with comprehensive skills and knowledge of this field of professionalism.
Currently, KU is the only Nepalese University that provides the Bachelor of Hospitality Management in Nepal. However, there are other colleges affiliated with foreign universities that provide similar or equivalent courses. They are;

The Bachelor of Hospitality Management course is a 4-year undergraduate degree. However, some equivalent courses listed in the above section are of 3 years. The program is generally semester-based.
Throughout the program, students learn theoretical as well as practical aspects of the hospitality industry through a rigorously built syllabus. A few things that the BHM course structure covers are as follows;

The objectives of the Bachelor of Hospitality Management are as follows:-
Any student who wants to study Bachelor's in Hospitality Management should have completed their intermediate or any equivalent level of education in any stream with an aggregate of 50% or 2 CGPA.
Along with this, students must pass the entrance examination (if there are any) conducted by the institution.

Scholarships
Colleges affiliated with Kathmandu University offer scholarships to students pursuing their undergraduate level of education in hospitality management courses. There is the provision of merit-based scholarships. Along with this, colleges waive a certain percentage of semester fees depending upon the marks obtained by students at the end-semester examination.
